Cylinders full of gas that would cause irritation in the lungs when inhaled and would eventually cause death from choking where used during WWI. This was origionally used by France, but quickly germany first place in usage. The gas would usually be mustard gas. The gas would spread in the wind and could take out entire groups of soldiers. Many people unfortunate enough to be cought in a cloud of this gas would suffer greatly with each breath. The major threat of the gas caused many soldiers to use makeshift gasmasks until they could get real gasmasks brought in. Chemical warfare was later banned from being used during war.
